Cable Bay Syrah 2017 Waiheke Island, Auckland

Distinctive yet forward bouquet of Syrah with an immediate varietal signature of raspberry and peppercorn. Some toasty oak and wood smoke, clove and vanilla add complexity and depth. Floral moments of violet and a little rose. These aromas repeat as flavours on the palate with firm chalky tannins and medium+ acidity. Flavours of red cherry and raspberry then oak - quite persistent with moderate oak and weight. A very nice wine, immediately enjoyable on its own or with food. Best from today and through 2024.
