Chard Farm Pinot Noir Mason Vineyard 2017 Central Otago

Distinctive aromas of stone rocky soils then soft dried herbs and red berry fruits. Additional aromas of French Oak barrel spices with sweet and dried vanilla, some clove and new wood. Dry, firm and youthful expression on the palate - ripe fruit flavours of cherry and red apple are contrasted with tart fruit flavours of raspberry and cranberry. Firm youthful tannins - quite fine too with a mix of wood and fruit, acidity follows suit. Youthful and deserves some cellar time for a while. best drinking from 2021 through 2027.
