Pegasus Bay Vergence White 2016 North canterbury

This wine is a blend of Semillon, Chardonnay, Muscat and Gewurztraminer with the Semillon portion aged on lees in old barrels for over two years.

Very fragrant and familiar bouquet with aromas of barrel ferment, lees spices, baked stone and tree fruits. The palate reveals a lot more with a weighty and textured wine showing flavours of spice and peach, wild flowers and lees, a nutty-oak and biscuit flavour. Medium acidity, medium+ weight, intriguing and tasty with a cheese rind moment on the finish. Definitely worth your attention for something a little different. Drink from now and through 2022.
