A powerful yet controlled even complex bouquet of SB with aromas of apples and white flowers, wet stones and grapefruit, sweet hay, gooseberry and white peach. Tense, youthful, vibrant, varietal and packed with energy. A core of fruit reflects the impact and power from the bouquet, zippy acidity, some fruit spice and sweet hay all leading to a long finish. There’s no mistaking the signature of this wine and style - with layers of fruit, lees spice and barrel ferment creaminess. Fruit aromas include lemon skin and peach, a waxy developing aroma of bottle age and lees, lemon grass and golden kiwi-fruit. Overall a complex and engaging bouquet. Delicious on the palate, weighty, layered, packed with flavours of cool climate citrus and pale stone fruits, a gentle creamy texture. Holds the acidity beautifully leading the long finish. Dog Point Pinot Noir 2017 Marlborough

Youthful, fresh, varietal and boldly fruity with aromas of plums and dark cherry, baking spices and raspberry. The oak signature is shows youthful fresh attack with toasty clove and vanilla scents. Nicely dry on the palate with a core of red fruits and savoury dried herb complexity. Flavours of red berries and oak, brown baking spices and a mix of stony mineral and floral moments. Tense, youthful, needs some cellar time to fully integrate and harmonise. Decant if drink through 2020, best from 2021 through 2026.
