Clearview Estate 'Old Olive Block' 2016 Hawkes Bay

This is a red blend based around the classic Bordeaux varieties. An orchestra of aromas of the nose with blackberry of Cabernet, dark plum of Merlot, violets and high cacao chocolate of Cabernet franc and Malbec; no mistaking the oak frame. On the palate -firm, dry, masculine and weighty with flavours and oak suggestions that match the nose. Plenty of youthful and firming tannins, medium+ acidity, a mix of fruit and oak; a lengthy finish. Decant for service with best drinking from late 2018 through 2028.
