Amisfield Chardonnay 2017 Central Otago

What a great bouquet of Chardonnay with a core of minerality then aromas and flavours of French oak and ripe grapefruit, vanilla and apple, citrus peel and crushed rocks. As the wine begins to open up in glass the complexity begins to show, but so does the youthfulness and charm of a wine that belongs in a cellar for a while longer. Flavours of cashew and wood spices, a touch of butterscotch and roasted yellow stone fruits. A light dusting of wood tannins, medium+ acidity and lengthy finish. Best from early 2020 through 2026.
